PA Driver Flees NJ State Troopers, Crashes On I-80

A Pennsylvania man was arrested after allegedly fleeing New Jersey troopers and crashing his car on Interstate 80, authorities said.

On Sunday, Feb. 5, at 11:39 a.m., troopers were dispatched to reports of an erratic driver on I-80 westbound near milepost 31 in Roxbury Township, a New Jersey State Police spokesman said. 

The vehicle was located traveling westbound on I-80 in near milepost 29 in Roxbury Township and was observed driving partially in the grass median, Trooper Charles Marchan said.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle continued traveling westbound, Marchan said.

The vehicle struck a guardrail at milepost 17.8 in Frelinghuysen Township and became disabled. The driver, who was identified as Efrain Rivera, 60, of Shawnee on Delaware was arrested without further incident, Marchan said.

Rivera was charged with eluding and issued several motor vehicle summonses, Marchan said.
